Creating Fun Since Excitement is what it is all about! I was introduced to the various employees in the office, and all of them seemed to be enjoying their jobs quite a bit.
Working for one the world's most established RC companies can't be a bad gig. The USA location has about 70 employees total. One of the first things that caught my eye in the office area was this gas-powered RC buggy that made a mile trip across the Mojave Desert from Barstow,California to Las Vegas, Nevada. As we walked around the massive warehouse I learned that contrary to popular belief, HPI Racing is actually an American company — not a Japanese one.

The reason we feel it has been necessary to write this article is that as a store, we simply cannot support our customers to the level that we feel is expected with a high-end brand and think it is our ethical responsibility to make any potential and existing customers aware of the current situation. Could this be a closed door for one and an open door for another? HPI started off in in Southern California with a small investment to produce after market parts and motors to existing RC vehicle manufacturers.
So two HUGE companies were going to merge together? What was to happen to HPI? What about parts for that old HPI Savage you have sitting on your workbench? What about the Hot Bodies Race Team? Will we ever see that Venture FJ? All of these are questions that many of us thought in our heads when reading the headlines. But just like Apple and Samsung, could two giants live together in harmony? Either way, the Hobby is changing everyday. Trends are changing and the people enjoying the Hobby are changing.
It all boils down to business for these huge companies; hopefully they keep the hobbyist in mind when making decisions. After all, we have given them the success they are enjoying. Very valid points and concerns for many of us! Hopefully the race scene stays healthy!
