Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out - after graduating top of her class from medical school, she'll follow in her father's footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon.

But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes , to work with him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast town only to find that Harley has passed away and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will.

She quickly finds that Southern hospitality isn't always so hospitable - the other doctor in town, Brick Breeland , is less than pleased to be sharing the practice with this young outsider, and his daughter, Lemon , is a Southern belle whose sweet disposition turns sour when she meets Zoe. Zoe 's only allies are the mayor, former football star Lavon Hayes , her bad-boy neighbor Wade Kinsella , and handsome lawyer George Tucker - who just happens to be Lemon 's fiance.

Wade Wilson Bethel and Zoe have a great love story, mostly because they're not a couple who fans might have expected to get together.

Wade is quirky and is totally his own person. He's an ESFP or "the enthusiastic improviser. This is why Zoe is drawn to him. Scott Porter's character George Tucker does his best to be a good person and do what people expect of him, but he can't help breaking up with his fiance Lemon and creating a new vision for his future. George would be an INFJ or "the insightful visionary. These types have a sensitivity to them and like being around people.

They always want people to tell them how they're doing and feeling as they care deeply. Lemon's dad Brick Tim Matheson is the doctor in the small town who is super threatened by Zoe Hart's arrival. As a conservative doctor who doesn't want things to ever change, Brick sounds like an ISTJ or "the responsible realist.

The show stars Joanna Garcia Swisher as Maddie, a soon-to-be divorced mom of three attempting to pick up the pieces after her husband Chris Klein leaves her for a younger woman Jamie Lynn Spears. Things finally start to look up when she begins dating her son's sexy new baseball coach, a former Major Leaguer Justin Bruening , leading to plenty of the romance that fans of Hart of Dixie love.

Like Hart of Dixie , Everwood is centered around a doctor who moves to a charming small town. But instead of needing experience as a general practitioner, renowned surgeon Andy Brown Treat Williams needs to figure out how to be a better father.

Following the sudden death of his wife Brenda Strong , Andy packs up his teenage son, Ephram Gregory Smith , and pre-teen daughter, Delia Vivien Cardone , and moves to Everwood, Colorado, in an attempt to rebuild his life and reconnect with his family.

The heartfelt WB series, created by Greg Berlanti , is infused with small town charm, loads of family drama, and the ups and downs of love, both young and old.

Hart of Dixie derived a lot of drama from Zoe being a medical professional out of her comfort zone. While the medical storylines were sometimes the weakest aspect of the show, Starz's romantic time travel series Outlander handles them much better, if that's something you're looking for.

Claire uses her medical knowledge and training to help those in need in various ways throughout the show, and she does it in much more believable fashion. You won't find Hart of Dixie 's signature comedy here, but there's plenty of romance to draw you in. Like Bluebell, the town of Schitt's Creek is a special place populated by some very out-there people, but you'll come to love them and their quirks just like the characters at the heart of the show.

Across six seasons, the characters evolve, find happiness, fall in love, begin new adventures, and otherwise come to understand that what matters in life is not what you own, but how you live that life and the people you choose to spend it with. It'll make you laugh.

There are too many crime shows. Josh Schwarz delivers tongue in cheek humor and a good likable cast.
